The USPS Souvenir Page Program began in early 1972.  The Postal Service had observed the interest in Stamp Poster with First Day Cancels and decided to begin a program of their own with sales offered by subscription.

This series has now reached over 700 types, and included enough variety to keep a collector busy for years.
