All information, including assessment of the postal validity of any issue are the sole opinion of the SOSSI Webmaster based upon review of the World Association for the Development of Philately (WADP) Numbering System - (WNS), Universal Postal Union (UPU) Information Bulletins, official postal agency and dealer sales information and historic practices. It is ultimately the responsibility of the collector to decide what to add to their collection.

The International Federation of Scout and Guide Stamp Collecting Organizations (IFSCO) Classifications of Boy Scout & Girl Scout new postage stamps & postal stationery issues is provided for your reference.

WORLD ORGANIZATION OF THE SCOUTING MOVEMENT
WOSM has requested National Scout Organizations to encourage Scout stamp issues by their countries to commemorate the Centenary of the Scouting Movement. August 1, 2007 will mark the the dawn of a new century for Scouting around the World.

EUROPA
PostEurop, the association of European public postal operators has announced the Europa theme for 2007 is "100 years of Scouting (the Scout movement and its history in each country)". The date of issue of Europa stamps is generally set for 9 May each year on Europe Day. Between 45 to 60 postal agencies could issue Europa theme Scout stamps.

The World Scout Bureau and PostEurop held the 2007 Europa Stamp Competition only open to scouts worlwide. Scouts were able to vote electronically on PostEurop’s website for their choice of the best Europa Scout stamp design. The result of this competition will be announced during the Plenary Assembly in Vienna in September 2007 and the winning postal operator will receive its prize from the hands of local scouts.

Use of "P" or personalized stamps has become a popular way to commemorate a local Scout event or activity, but these are not official Scout issues by postal agencies or catalogued as Scout stamps.

Cinderella's are "labels that are not issued by a federal government for the purpose of paying postage." Many of these are privately printed or overprinted stamps by dealers, so they never had any postal value or use. Their production and sale is banned by the U.P.U. and member states.
