Welcome to our online support to United Kingdom Scouts who would like to earn a badge for stamp collecting!  The UK Scout Association offers the following badges that could be awarded to Scout stamp collectors:

Cub Collector Badge

  1. Make a collection over a period of three months of a number of similar items (e.g. stamps, postcards, matchboxes or fossils).
  2. Arrange your collection neatly and in a suitable order, labeling items correctly and clearly.
  3. Talk about items in your collection that particularly interest you.
  4. Visit or look at a collection made by someone else and explain what you like or dislike about the presentation of the collection, choice of venue, etc.  This could be a personal or public collection.

Note: A Cub Scout can wear any number of Collectors Badges.

Scout Hobbies and Interests Badge

Scout Hobbies and Interests Badge

1. Either:
  • Be actively involved with a hobby or interest of your choice not covered by other Proficiency badges and keep a record of your involvement over a period of at least six months.

Or:
  • Make a collection or study of objects over a period of at least six months. (for example stamps, metal badges, teaspoons or bookmarks.)

2. Demonstrate your knowledge and interest in the subject by discussing the reason for your choice with the examiner.

Note: For Scouts whose needs are not dealt with in the above, alternative requirements may be adopted as agreed by the Patrol Leaders' Council.
