Welcome to our online support to Girl Guides in Australia
who would like to earn a badge for stamp collecting! The new Challenges allow the Guide to
try something new and different, help her meet new people, increase her confidence in her skills,
extend her knowledge and skills and make her feel proud of herself. The requirements for the
badges are listed in Look Wide.
Explore a challenge! Stamp collecting could be used for:
• The "own challenge" of
Explore our World
• Several of the challenge options for
Explore Guiding
• The "new hobby" option in
Explore Friendship.
Create a challenge!
• There are 30 badges in this area, plus a blank for you to create your own.
• There are lots of different starting points or you can use your own ideas.
• Write your own challenges using the words around the page to give you ideas.
• You may choose one big challenge or a series of small ones.
• Check your ideas out with someone and write your plans.
• Create a different challenge and earn another reward.
Achievement Awards
Stamp collecting could also be used as a vehicle for completing challenges within the "Guiding Traditions"
section of the 3 Peak Achievement awards which are Junior BP, BP and Queen's Guide, particularly those
stamps relating to Guiding.
For the oldest guides working on the Queen's Guide Award, stamp collecting in general could be used as
the 3 month Interest activity required to complete any Focus Certificate.
